Fletch discovers fellow inmates at Slade Prison are planning an escape over Christmas – and is so convinced the bid is doomed to fail that he takes refuge in the hospital so he cannot be blamed when the tunnel is found. Festive edition of the classic comedy from 1975, starring Ronnie Barker and Richard Beckinsale.

With only two festive episodes originally ever recorded, the original 1974 – 1977 series of Porridge became an overnight hit with the British public. The series is set in the fictional prison of HMP Slade in Cumberland and stars Ronnie Barker and Richard Beckinsale as two inmates. The term “Doing porridge” is British slang and stands for the times inmates serve as a prison sentence.
