It’s half a century to the day since Terry Wogan’s voice first rippled effortlessly from radios tuned to the BBC. Radio 2 is, of course, celebrating the anniversary extensively; this tribute takes the great man’s wireless work as one of the three things that defined him, alongside TV entertainment and fundraising for Children in Need. Expect giggly clips from the Eurovision Song Contest, Blankety Blank and many more of Sir Terry’s artfully chaotic telly triumphs, as well as Wogan and the CiN telethons. And of course, the roster of contributors is A-class: Jeremy Vine, Ken Bruce, Katie Melua, Fearne Cotton, Len Goodman, Graham Norton and Rob Brydon are among those praising the skill behind the relaxed persona.
