Watchdog is a factual BBC television series. It investigates reports from members of the public who encounter difficulties and who have been unfairly treated by traders, retailers, and companies around the UK.
It has been incredibly successful in educating consumers about their rights and has lead to many changing company policies, and forcing some to close down.
The programme was first broadcast on 8 September 1980.
Anne Robinson has been the signature face of the show for the last 15 years. The seventy-year old has recently stepped down from the factual programme to begin filming a major new series for the channel.
The programme usually sees 5.7 million viewers tuning in.
