They can occur gradually, when the surface subsides into bowl-shaped depressions, or suddenly, when the ground gives away – swallowing animals, buildings and even entire highways. This documentary features video footage of dramatic collapses and follows scientists as they explore the underlying forces behind these natural disasters.
