Series 9, episode 12 – Hell Bent.
A British science-fiction television drama first aired in 1963 depicts the adventures of the Doctor, a Time Lord— a space and time-travelling humanoid alien. The Doctor explores the universe in his TARDIS, which is really a time-travelling space ship. Twelve actors have currently starred in the series as the Doctor.
In tonight’s episode, Peter Capaldi takes centre-stage in what is effectively a one-man episode for the first half of this year’s series finale when he faces the greatest challenge of his many lives when he is trapped, alone, in a world unlike any he has ever seen.
In this penultimate chapter of the current ninth series, he must attempt the impossible in one final test, and if he makes it through, the long-lost world of Gallifrey is waiting. Will he succeed? or will we be left on a cliffhanger knife edge until next week’s final episode?
