MOTD, a it it commonly abbreviated, is the BBC’s main football television programme and it is one of the BBC’s longest-running shows, having been broadcast since 22 August, 1964. Interestingly, the Guinness World Records recognises Match of the Day as the longest-running football TV programme in the world.
