The series is a crime drama television series set on the beautiful Scottish archipelago of the same name. The series stars Douglas Henshall as Detective Inspector Jimmy Perez and his two-man team. The two-part stories collectively make a six episode series, with this one being the third after its previous successes.
The majority of the episodes were filmed on the Scottish mainland. The series is taken from the novel of Ann Cleeves.
