The son of a respected local family, is found dead on the beach at Whitley Bay. An eye- witness spotted him having an arguement the night before, and with the help of a warrant a residents house is searched only to find a bloodied baseball bat on the premises. Vera is left under pressure to solve the case when a second murder is uncovered.
